Memorialization:Pillow Monument

The most traditional forms of memorialization are upright monuments or flat (flush to the ground) markers, placed on ground burial sites, and marked with names, dates, and epitaphs to remember the deceased.

Monuments and markers are available in granite or bronze, single or double.  Both cemetery offices offer a large selection of each type of marker and upright granite monuments.  Both offices have full time, trained staff to advise you as to the marker or monument that is the correct type and size, and help in the choice of a personal and suitable tribute to those you are memorializing.

Urns suitable for niche or ground burial are on display for sale in both offices.  Urns are metal, wood, ceramic, granite or marble, and are sized for single or double cremated remains.

Also available are other options for memorialization, such as memorial benches, trees, or other landscaping features for the cemeteries. For Holy Cross Mausoleum, stained glass windows, benches or silk plants are also available.

Pre-Arranged Services:

Our mission is to serve the people of Edmonton, to provide information about the various options available for burial and memorialization. Our cemeteries are operated on a not-for-profit, cost-recovery basis and our staff are trained not only to answer questions but also to ASK the right questions, so that your particular situation and preferences may be accommodated. Taking time to consider your choices and making some of these arrangements now rather than waiting until the time of need is a kindness to each other, as family members.

For information about pre-arrangement options or to request an information package, with no obligation to purchase, click here or call 780 447-2921.

If a family belongs to this parish, with the approval of the Parish Priest, a stillborn or newborn baby can be buried in this part of the cemetery at no charge.

Only flat memorials are permitted in this section.    A portion of this section is for families who have lost their babies during pregnancy or at birth and whose bodies are released by the parents to the hospital which arranges for the burial.  Funeral homes and cemeteries rotate in a specific schedule to handle these burials at no charge to the families.

Memorialization in section 9:
